The Virginia Statute for Religious Liberty
The Virginia Statutes for Religious Liberty separated church and state. It said that you as a Virginian, every one of you in this room is free to worship the God of your choice. That bill took eight years to pass in the House of Delegates. Many people were against it for a variety of reasons.
