The Importance of Economic Growth in National Security
We are exiting a period in which economic growth and national security could be thought towards distinct and separate spheres. The lesson drawn from the Cold War against the Soviet Union was that economic growth could be ignored as a national security factor because on balance it was hugely in the West's favor. We can no longer assume and it makes no sense to assume that economics and geopolitics can be separated in that way.
