The Role of Women in the Revolution in the 1950s

I don't think that any of this was inevitable. It did become a noticeable and very much legally inscribed part of the Cuban Revolution in terms of policy in the early 1960s. So it's not to say that like the Cuban revolution would go on to neglect it. It's only to say that there was this very long time of period of revolutionary ferment from Makada all the way up to the victories in 1959, where they're not talking about these issues in such a direct way.
