'What About the Monster?'
The monster was a giant ox, taller than her father and wider than a wagon. It had the fierce mane and jaws of a lion, opened wide and full of hooked yellow teeth. From the center of its shaggy forehead sprouted a single needle-sharp horn. Jew clung to her mother and shut her eyes, afraid the monster would break down their door. A few moments later, the monster's stomping footsteps retreated in search of easier food.
