Tacitus who is again our earliest source he goes out of his way to say that it's only a rumor that Nero started the fire and that he allegedly played some kind of strained instrument while he watched the fire. No one thinks he personally threw the torch i think what they think is that he ordered it of course to be done by other people but in my opinion it was accidental i can never prove that i mean you know we have a couple of indirect pieces of evidence suggesting neuros innocence, says historian John Lloyd-Smith.
