The Killing of Officer Wally Ackerd at Notre Dame

Helen Tobolsky, a 62-year-old custodian at the University of Notre Dame was shot to death in 1975. Wesleyan College hired an off-duty officer and offered a $25,000 reward out of their own pocket for any information leading to the identification and arrest of Officer Wally's killer. To this day no one has been charged or convicted over his murder. We can only hope that Wally and his widow find some measure of peace.
