The students came from diverse ideological perspectives, some self-identified as Republicans or conservatives. Some were just figuring out what it meant to have a political identity but they all in some way cared about justice. The participants are the ones who govern their community for the six weeks that they're together over the summer. In 2014, you take the students who today might think that might be a source of conflict right? There's people who self-defined as Republicans, people who finger themselves as progressives.
