The Great Unconformity
In all cases, there is a sort of an anomalous abundance of inconformities during this period. When you look at roptht are older than cambrian, though older than about 500 forty one million years, there's often a major onconformity somewhere in the few hundred million years before that. If you go to places on the canadian shield, you might see archeans of two point five billion years or older rocks with sediments that are cambrian or division on top of them. So you're missing quite a bit of geologic time there. The fact that we're seeing this at a widespread scale of the north american continent during these snowball earth
