John had been excitedly planning this epically long hike for the better part of the last year. This trail spanned the entire west coast of the united states. It takes the average hiker, if they're gong to do this entire trail in one go, about five months. John was especially excited about this particular hike because it was going to be the very first hike he would be doing after his retire et from being a social worker.
