There are multiple different approaches to ph analysis. This one is called a physiologica raproach, or conventional approach tor. It gets us the information that we need, but it's also pretty simple and easy to understand. There are other acid base systems out there, which are more complex. Despite my best efforts, i think that this is not any better than the conventional approach.
