The Loss of the Eyes to See

We can't comprehend these forces because they live and play in the relational space between us and the natural world. And we've decided that this type of cognition, what Corbin called supersensory cognition, isn't necessary. I think about angels, wrote Eugenio Montali, in his poem Satara, scattered here and there, unobserved. If no one sees them, it is because other eyes are needed, which I do not have. The pressing question is: Have we lost the eyes to see?
