Troy Townsend's son Curtis died in a car accident on the 15th of December 2001. He was released by Wimbledon at 16 and signed for Chezzan Football Club. The pair were business partners but Troy didn't want him to go with his friend Steve Brown, who is now manager of Sloughtown FC.
