Yema is a case study of somebody who wasn't expected to carry on with their studies. She was told not to bother doing the a levels, because she couldn't understand numbers. Yema's parents split up when she was 11 or 12 and we didn't have a great deal of money. This meant i had a full grant to go to university - which wouldn't have been possible otherwise. Her family were very supportive and e, i had a good college that did encourage me to take my a levels,. But i think i started on the back foot, really. I was, i mean, i had an learning disability, and it wasn't recognized er, and i didn't recognize
