Prospero

It's a very elusive novel, not only to Bambel's other work, but also to loads of works of literature. Prospero hangs very heavily over this novel. I think all these characters are so sort of puckish in a way. Freddie is dealing with the fact that having become this awful thing by doing this awful act. It's very much exploring those kind of faggens of life in all sorts of different ways.
