Communicating From an Emotional Spot
The closer you are to a topic, the more likely you are to end up at an emotional spot when communicating about it. Emotional communication is more likely to focus on feelings as opposed to facts. Being aware of your own emotional state when you're communicating and trying to manage it can help. And if appropriate, name your emotions and the reasons you're feeling them to yourself and the person you 're communircating with and to your kid.
