Stonehenge, a New Understanding
Stonehenge is a monument made up of a series of stone circles set within an earthwork. People had been coming to this spot on the chalk lands near the river aven for a long time. The stones have been moved around repeatedly since they were first brought to the location. Some of the materials used in the struction are relatively local, but bluestones originally came from a quarry in Wales.
