The goal is not necessarily to optimize every aspect of your performance, but we still want to perform well in those sessions. A struggle to believe that the weight on the bar is completely inconsequential. The degree to which we sweat over the details is going a very based on your goal. If you're really health focused, if your very performance focused, you probably ought to be sweating over the details. And if your main goals or body composition, you're probably somewhere in the middle there.
