The guideline is meant to be applied to the eight to 60 days old, the temperature of 38 or above in the past 24 hours. If a child's got an immunization in the past 48 hours, the guideline is not necessarily applied to them. However, infants who have a positive viral test or URI symptoms do fall in the guidelines.
