The Mammoth Bone Bed
Since that summer day in 19 74, the crew at the hot springs mammotsite has unearthed the remains of more than 60 individual mammoths. These sink holes hid them from scavengers and the natural processes that would have broken the bones down before a palaeontologist or a bull dozer could dig them back up. For paleontologists like sharon who worked through the bone bed, it offers a window into what the black hill's ego systems were like throughout the ice age. And for the rest of us, if you're a tenager, maybe slow down. Look before you leap, think before you swim. If you have the chance, just listen to your grandma.
