I think it's very hard to move forward if you can't get beyond hatred. And i think that needs to be got beyond. I also think that you've sat your position, yourself on the left, and you're thinking about just relating to the millions your country people who voted for trump. So i think it's appropriate to think these people's lives are complex and involve all sorts of problems. We should have some charity towards them. But then also, really importantly, to be thinking about the material conditions that make so many of the people in the poorer states in this country angry and resentful.
