The Fruits of Suffering

Father Mike: Sometimes God allows us to get into suffering in order to wake us up. In order to win he will not necessarily spare our lives or spare our dreams, all these hopes so we can get our soul back. One of the fruits of suffering can be repentance and it can teach us deeper wisdom about life that we could never ever learn without outside of suffering. The best thing Job's friends did for him was when he was in the depth of his suffering. He just sat with him for seven days and didn't say a word. That was the best thing they could have done for Job in his suffering.
