How to Motivate Beginners

I tailor a lot of my stuff to business because if that's what they're there in my class four, obviously I, I, I ask them why they're learning English. Then I'm not going to patronize them with things like Apple or do you like to eat oranges at the weekend? What's going to motivate them is if I say, do you have a deadline next week?
