Should You Fix Your Energy Bill?
The average energy bill is going to be coming down 17% from July. But the fixed rates that are coming out are relatively limited. What's happening at the moment is all the companies who offer fixes are offering existing customer fixes, not open market fixes. Regulation has not caught up and I'm writing a formal request of the regulator to change the rules so that existing customer fixes must be published. That means people like me, when you ask me, is this fix any good? I will actually be able to tell you because I'll know what the rates are. At the moment, I've only got some average rates and some limited examples but I don't know that that is the exact rate
