The Life and Times of Benjamin Netanyahu
Netanyahu was elected to the Knesset in 1988. He became Israel's youngest ever prime minister in 1996 and immediately set about opening up the state of Israel to the free market. In 2005, he resigned his position in protest at Ariel Sharon's decision to withdraw from the occupied Gaza Strip. Some see this as evidence of Netanyahu's hardline attitude to Palestinians. But Gil Hoffman disagrees: "I still don't believe he's hawkish"
