Animals Don't Have Intelligence

It's clear that animals aren't as smart as us. But intelligence is a spectrum, even among humans. So maybe animals share in the same intelligent spectrum as us. They just aren't as far along that spectrum, as most humans are. It's really hard to find a particular intellectual ability that all humans have and that all animals don't.
