The Heart of Chopin
In 1880, the heart is moved from the basement to a place of honor upstairs. Over time, nationalist feelings start to congeal around Chopin. In 1944, war is ravaging Poland again. The Nazis take Chopin's heart out of the Church and bring it to SS headquarters for safekeeping. After the war, as the Church was being rebuilt, Chopin’s heart is paraded triumphantly through the country.
