The Met's Incompetence and Overreach

Six members of the group, including its chief executive Graham Smith, were arrested before the protest even began. The force has now expressed regret that these arrests took place at all. It was not clear at the time that at least one of the groups stopped had been engaging with police protest liaison team officers ahead of the event. As a made-up police officer might put it, I think the public would prefer us to be out catching criminals. Or indeed staying in catching criminals.
