Wu was buying South Korean Samsung semiconductors through a US-based version of his company in order to sell them to a Japanese company. The whole scheme was a way to fund his real dream of building his own semiconductor factory in Taiwan. Wu's company grew up alongside Taiwan's semiconductor industry. He built his factory in Taiwan and is still number one today.
