CHAPTER

The Story of Heracles

There is probably no more archetypal hero than heracles. But the stories of hera are much more than the stories of a manly hero. They are stories of specific directional energetics. The defeat of the lion is a story of sealing off, of drawing inward. The slaying of the sea serpent ledon is astory of and release. This necessity to transmit dynamism created grand movements in stories. It required that great stones be hurled, landscapes be cracked open and remaid. These were the primal, energetic directionalities of creation which needed to be embodied for individual beings to successfully navigate life.
