The Pros and Cons of Mobile Stroke Units
The idea behind these mobile stroke units was first proposed back in about 2003. They are an adapted ambulance that have a CT scanner, a telemedicine system and a point of care laboratory system within them. There's been other studies that have also confirmed that the call to needle time has been shortened by bringing in These mobile stroke units. The problem is that nobody has really properly investigated any clinical or functional outcomes from these mobile Stroke Units. And I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of Simon and Rob.
