Edward Bud put out an ad for a farm worker. Two days later the doorbell rang at Edward Bud's house his mother opened it and saw a small elderly man in a suit. The fact that he was wearing a suit meant that he was above them on like the class rung. He claimed to be a former interior decorator who had Made a bunch of money and then started to farm upstate. Part of his lie was that his he'd moved out to start a farm with his wife and kids and she'd abandon him because she was terrible.
