Student Debt Forgiveness - What Kind of Injury Could They Have Suffered?
Biden announced in August that the federal government would cancel $10,000 in student debt for those who earn less than $125,000 a year. A lawsuit brought by Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, and South Carolina argued Biden lacked constitutional authority to cancel student debt. An appeals court put the entire program on temporary hold while they're considering the case. The current pause on federal student loans is set to expire in January.
