Elliott Smith was competing in the 2022 Golden Globe Race when his bow-sprit broke off the coast of Cape Town. He made a repair that got him across the southern ocean to Australia, where he ended up retiring from the race just a couple of weeks ago. Elliott is currently working on selling his boat second wind before he heads back to the US for his next adventure.
