McConnell was destructive politically for exactly the reasons he said. He wanted to make sure that the Republicans come back into power and prevent Obama from carrying out anything constructive. It's a very characteristic position of the Republicans since 50 years. If we are in power, we throw money away without any concern. That's what we're going to see. And Trump will cooperate. He has the voting base in his pocket. McConnell wants it for his own reasons. They can hope to come roaring back in the midterm elections in 2004 if the country really collapses. Just take a look at the comparisons. The Democrats are moderately to the right of where they traditionally were. The Republicans are out in outer space.
