The Buddhist Way of Life
The Burmese temple is a two story brick building with a large veranda. The men go up to the roof where they sleep under a large tent. The women, we unroll our sleeping bags in the hallways and hang sarries on clothes lines between us for a little privacy. Our first meditation takes place in the temple library. It feels like we sit for six thousand years, but it's just forty five minutes. By the end, i'm exhausted and hot and my knees hurt. I think back to what chogim trunkeripce told me in buffalo, follow the pretence of accident.
