The brill building had become the vortex of the pop music industry in the 19 forties, and by the ties and sixties, its rockin roll took off. It was the place to be if you were a music publisher, record label, radio promoter or song writer. Hal david and bert backarak met at the brill building and began their legendary partnership just a few years before carol king and jery goffin arrived.
