The Battle of the Budget Holes

Labor's David Parker told the media there was a 2.8 billion dollar hole in the National Party's plan to build new roads. The figures that they used in their costings actually came from David Parker's office in a parliamentary written question from three weeks ago. Lloyd Burr has had a look at it and he says Labor is more than doubling its original estimate of $721 million. He also thinks Labour should set up a Costings Unit which could independently weigh up big budget claims attached to political parties policies. But no chance of that happening this term with the election just months away, but both National Land and Labour now seem open to revisiting the plan next term.
