The Importance of Protein in Ageing

In the U.S., we get 70% of our calories from plant-based foods now, only 30% from animal-based foods. 40% of women over 65 don't get enough protein just to be equal and being a vegan doesn't make that better. My problem with vegans is when they sort of take a moral superiority approach to it. If you want to do it for some metabolic reason, cardiovascular disease, you've got really high LDLs or something, I'm okay with that. Is it metabolically better? I don't think so.
