The IPL has struggled in certain elements, but thrived in others. It's very hard for people to really be attached to one team if your favorite player plays for that team. And so it's a little bit of a pro and con of the auction really is these big players do move around a lot. I've seen people cry in the streets when Virat Kohli's been given out unfairly in an international game. So it blows my mind actually how intense the fandom is in India. As I said at the top, it's more than just sport. It's this mix of entertainment and religion. You're not Indian to understand how deeply ingrained it is in their culture.
