If you set out to write a book about consciousness, I'm not sure this would have been the book. There was this, there is hopefully not a pocket full story about the Kafka's manuscript,. The trial, which is apparently that he wrote all the chapters and they were meant to be read in a random order. Like everyone was supposed to be able to pick it up at any different time.
