In the essays in here on law, i would say there's a theme running through most of them. And it has to do with a couple of different ways that we might think about the constitution. The nomocratic view is against abstraction and toward concrete facts. Now, by contrast, you have the teleological approach, which is that law is working inexorably towards some deal in state or final cause.
