The Orthogonality of Alignment

The first step to understanding alignment is the orthogonality thesis which says that you've got two different things. Depending on the values you can have very different results and this doesn't require digital incarnations of intelligence. So if that sort of argument makes sense then the idea of alignment should be built on top of that by saying like well we want an artificial intelligence that's complementary to our values right it's not.
