Dave has some information he explains the backstory that he pieced together that could make sense of all this there was this guy Buchanan the old crime boss in town who many years ago was uh tried and convicted of crime and then sent into exile in Italy what was this like a common punishment in the 1940s so you're convicted of being a mafia boss and instead of going to prison you're sent to Italy yeah i i had the same uh head scratching situation with this detail and i was looking it up um and i can't find anything that would support this as an actual reality. There's some murky stuff about u.S states being able to exile people from a given state but i didn't come
