The Difference Between Routine and Ritual

A ritual is a way of doing something in which the same actions are done in the same way every time. So for example, like coffee is part of my morning ritual. Rituals often have a religious or spiritual or at least deeper emotional meaning. A routine is maybe like drinking coffee, but is there a deep emotional meaning for drinking coffee every morning?
