Partially Driven Automation Systems - What Do You Find?

The study looked at people who regularly use partial driving automation systems in their personal vehicles. All three groups reported being more likely to engage in non-driving related activities when supported by their technology as compared with when they are driving unassisted or manually. Supercruise and Autopilot users were especially more likely to engaging in the types of activities that involve taking their hands off the wheel or taking their eyes off the road. Pro-pilot assist users were least likely to think that secondary activities were safe to perform while using these systems.
