The Evolution of Population Genetics in the 19 Seventies
Population genetics was in an interesting place ecause there weal these tools, but not that much data. If the variants occur on two closely linked gens, they tend to be held together in the population. The idea of how you look for genetic variants and their association with disease depends on the notion of linkage. And my study was intended to really look at it generally, under what conditions would loside be held together? Under what conditions would they be brought together by linkage?
