The Agamemnon and the Niagara set sale for the rendezvous point in the mid Atlantic once again on June 10th of 1858 after they had been restocked with cable and machinery. But this time a storm quickly derailed their plans. Money was short, however, and these numerous failed attempts had already cost about 300,000 pounds. So new shares of the Atlantic Telegraph Company had to be offered for sale at 20 pounds each to try to build up the company coffers. And they did. They made some money and were ready to go.
