I suppose writing about images, for me, has been like a kind of training in how you write about anything. I'm always looking for this kind of moment where the thing starts to kind of fray around the edges. And if I can find the guiding metaphor, it sounds really stupid, doesn't it? Everything will simultaneously kind of fall apart and come together. So this is my experience of writing. It's at least when it's exciting, when it feels like it's working.
