Nikki Giovanni dropped out of Columbia University's MFA program in 1968. She didn't like being told what she should and shouldn't write. Her first poetry anthology, Black Feelings Black Talk, launched her into the National Spotlight. Nikki believes it's time for a new generation of activists to lead,. And that it's her job to support them.
