The Problem of Development in the Arab Spring

The way you approach that problem is very different depending on where you are. I always think once you start thinking about specific countries and about what's the problem? You know, to go back to Sudan, for example, when we talk about the Glorious Revolution, England in 1688 didn't have an army. So there's something that the historical example doesn't illustrate, but turns out to be a massive problem in practice. And at some point, these big social science generalizations, they don't help you much, know what to do.
